Proportional Dosing
Direct-Tech Solutions manufacture a number of commercial proportional dosing systems; these are flow dependent with a high degree of accuracy in delivering liquid additives in water systems. All units are governed by a pulse output water meter for increased accuracy. These units are available with a wide range of optional failsafe features. We can carry out a free in depth site survey to determine the feasibility of a dosing system benefitting site. Chlorine Dioxide Generator
Our chlorine dioxide generator uses a two part chemical mix producing the CLO2 at source in its housed reaction chamber. This combination reduces the amount of active CLO2 stored on site and delivers CLO2 at its strongest concentration. The chlorine dioxide generator also incorporates a redox sensor.

Chlorine dioxide (CLO2) in accordance with HSG274 Part 2 (ACOP L8) can be used as an alternative control measure in controlling Legionella to temperature. CLO2 is an oxidising biocide capable of reacting with a wide range of organic substances. Levels of 0.5mg/l can, when properly managed, be effective against planktonic and sessile legionella in hot and cold water systems. One of the most important qualities of CLO2 is its high water solubility, especially in cold water. CLO2 does not hydrolyse when it enters water; it remains a dissolved gas in solution. CLO2 is approximately 10 times more soluble in water than chlorine. Drinking water treatment is the main application of disinfection by CLO2 and disinfects through oxidation. It is a biocide that is a molecular free radical. Substances of organic nature in bacteria cells react with CLO2, causing several cellular processes to be interrupted. CLO2 reacts directly with amino acids and the ribonucleic acids in the cell; it affects the cell membrane by changing the membrane proteins and fats and by prevention of inhalation. Viruses are eliminated by the prevention of protein formation.

Our silver hydrogen peroxide generator uses a single part chemical allowing the dosing system to be more compact; this is a big advantage when space is limited.
Silver Hydrogen Peroxide
The active substance used is hydrogen peroxide, an environment friendly substance. The active substance is stabilized and boosted with silver, achieving a greatly improved effectiveness against micro-organisms. The traces of silver remaining on the treated surfaces are not visible and non toxic. The elemental oxygen separated by the hydrogen peroxide attacks the cell walls of the micro-organisms directly. The chemical reaction between the oxygen and the cell wall molecules will cause these to be denatured and destroyed. This effect is intensified by the silver ions which form a bond with the disulphide bridge of certain proteins of micro-organisms, thereby inactivating or precipitating these proteins.
